Abstract:The greatest advantage of the variable polarity plasma arc(VPPA)welding is that the characteristic parameters can be adjusted flexibly,such as the current frequency,current amplitude and time comparison in both the positive and negative half.For this reason,the cathode cleaning action can be realized and the keyhole welding can be achieved at the same time during the welding of aluminum alloys.Therefore,the VPPA welding has been widely utilized in the welding of aluminum structures in the aerospace industry...
