Abstract: | In the previous paper, (Part I)(1), the results were presented of an investigation of heat transfer to non-boiling falling films of water in an electrically heated copper tube of 0.948-in. i.d. and 8-ft. long. Comparative measurements of heat transfer in full tube flow were also given, and the effect of a simple swirl-type turbulence promoter was studied for both full tube and film-type flow. The present paper presents the results of an investigation of boiling heat transfer in the same apparatus. |
