Abstract:The pilot test area in Block Zero of Jinglou oil field is a representative of the shallow, thin, viscous and dispersal heavy oil reservoirs in Henan Petroleum Exploration Bureau, which could not be developed by steam flood according to the existing steam flooding screen standards for heavy oil reservoirs. Thanks to the key studies made, in the pilot test area 20. 47% of OOIP was additionally recovered by steam flooding with OSR being o. 225, after 29. 05% of OOIP had been produced from that area by cyclic steam stimulation with OSR being 0. 549. This paper analyzes steam flooding characteristics, and based on the reservoir geological and development features, develops some technical approaches to enhance steam flood effectiveness of the shallow and thin heavy oil reservoirs.
