介绍了《工程索引》（EI）的收录范围和及其主要数据库产品，以及来源期刊的选刊原则，核心期刊和非核心期刊著录项目的区别。分析了中国科技期刊被EI收录的情况，侧重对我国石油期刊和《天然气工业》杂志被EI收录情况进行了详细统计、分析。对EI数据库收录的中文期刊文献记录中的主要字段进行了分析，得知在主题词字段中，EI并没有沿用我国期刊文章上的英文主题词，而是EI专业人员根据EI主题词表重新标引的；对文摘字段中的内容，EI则直接采用了我国期刊文章的英文文摘内容。最后，对如何成为EI数据库来源期刊提出了建议。

EI INTRODUCTION AND ANALYSIS OF CITED CHINESE PETROLEUM PERIODICALS 1)

The article introduces the citing scope and main database products of the “Engineering Index” (EI), selecting principle of source periodicals, and the difference of recording items between core and non core periodicals. Also, the article analyzes the situation of Chinese technical periodicals cited by EI, and sums the citing situation of Chinese petroleum periodicals, especially “Natural Gas Industry”. With analysis of main paragraphs cited from Chinese periodicals by EI database, it is found the subject headings in the cited Chinese periodicals are not adopted by EI, but are rewritten according to the EI keywords table. And the abstracts in English of the periodicals are adopted directly. At last, the article proposes suggestions how to become the source periodicals of EI database.
