Abstract:Obscuring time of smokescreen is an important parameter, and diffusion coefficient is a crucial parameter to the obscuring time of smokescreen. The relational equation that effective obscuring area of smoke changes with diffusion co-efficient and diffusing time was derived. And based on experimental data, the parabolas that the area changes with time are drawn, and the relation between diffusion coefficient and obscuring time of smoke-screen is analyzed. Diffusion coefficients of smoke cloud in the infrared (IR) and in the visible light are compared with, the two-phase flow character of aerosol particle is found while diffusing in the two wavebands. And their differences are analyzed in detail.
