Crude oil analysis

Summary It has been shown that it is easily possible to obtain the exact amount of refined oil in a given sample of crude by an accurate analytical method. The refining efficiency in a well operated refinery is 96.5 per cent on prime crude oils. That proper settling of crude oil results in an increase of the absolute oil of 1.5 per cent and upwards. That the free fatty acid test may show acidity due to other causes than free fatty acids.
