Basic characteristics of shale ceramsite and its application in engineering

This paper analyzes the basic characteristics of Yichang shale ceramsite, and compares the bulk density, compressive strength, and 1 h water absorption rate with the related performance indexes of shale ceramsite from an US company. The paper also describes the mechanical properties, thermal properties of shale ceramsite lightweight aggregate concrete and its products, and illustrates the results of prototype shale ceramsite composite slab surfacing test, as well as typical application examples of shale ceramsite concrete in high-rise building engineering, and dis. cusses the application prospect of shale ceramsite lightweight aggregate concrete in fabricated buildings.
