The paper analyses the reasons why China's import of crude oil is increasing so rapidly and oil product stock increases and in turn,its impact upon our national economy,points out that a rational consumption pattern and level for China's oil consumption should be sought so as to ensure the healthy development of our national economy and finally suggests speeding up "substituting gas for oil" and "substituting coal for oil" steps in order to lessen the immense pressure on the oil market from the development of our national economy.
