Superconductivity of the quasi-one-dimensional semiconductor — polyacene

Superconductivity in polyacene with zero or small band gap is studied within the mean field approximation. It turns out that the BCS gap and the transition temperature are not exponential but proportional to the square of the interaction constant. Even if a band gap exists, superconductivity persists as long as the band gap is small. Interchain transfers reduce the BCS gap and the transition temperature.
