Abstract: | Load Bearing Behaviour of Slim Floor Constructions The shear capacity of hollow core slabs is considerably reduced due to transverse stresses when the slabs are bedded on flexible supports (e.g. slender beams). However, a standardised design model has not been established yet to determine the residual strength appropriately. This paper describes full scale tests concerning the load carrying behaviour of hollow core slabs supported on steel beams, so‐called slim floor constructions. Recommendations regarding the design and the construction on flexible supports are given. |
