| Abstract: | Many stability tests that are available for 2-D digital filters require long and tedious computations. In the automatic synthesis or optimisation of these filters, it is necessary that the stability is assessed very rapidly. In the letter two necessary conditions of stability are derived. Evaluation of these conditions indicate the stability of the filters. As these conditions are extremely easy to evaluate, they can be incorporated into a CAD programme. |
