Mass transfer in a rotating cylinder cell—I. Laminar flow

Abstract:The relationship between mass transfer and rotation rate for a concentric cylinder cell, in which the inner cylinder rotates and the outer cylinder remains stationary, has been derived for a simple model assuming linear velocity gradients near the rotating cylinder surface. A previous treatment by Kimla and > Stráfelda has been shown to be in error, but when corrected it takes essentially the same form as that derived in this paper.
