| Abstract: | Based on the first hand material collected by the authors over the recent years, this paper presents the IE concepts and introductions of this discipline proposed by Chinese educational and academic circles in 1920s and 1930s. Evidence is given to show that the development of the thought history of IE in China is 40 years earlier that previously expected. |
