Development of Modified Phosphate Hardeners for the Warm Box Coremaking Process

The phosphate hardeners modified with aluminium chloride and magnesium chloride were developed in view of the burdening mechanism of furan resin and the characteristic. of warm box ptocess. The composition of the hardener. and their technical properties were investigated. Results show that the new hardenerscould not only catalyze the furan resin to set up strength rapidly, but also the hardeners themselves could polymerize, which strengthen the resin bridge to some extent and,henee,the resin consumption could be minimized. Result. of application are satisfactory.
