| Abstract: | This paper presents a new formula for the calculation of the maximum electric field strength within cover plate contact. The formula shows that the more the dielectric coefficient, the smaller the maximum electric field strength within cover contact. The calculated values of the maximum electric field strength are shown to be in close agreement with the test results. The formula can be very useful in the insulation structure design of cover plate contacts. |
