| Abstract: | Based on practice in design and construction of enclosing piles for underground halls of an civil defence project in Shanghai with investigation on enclosing piles for deep foundation in Shanghai, Nanjing and others a detailed analysis on problem encountered in design and construction of enclosing piles was given. Considerations for its design and construction in saturated soft soil were suggested. |
