在东京在这条主要商业街上，以石材及玻璃进行立面处理的建筑比比皆是，而这家商店却以木制格栅作为表面覆层，因而显得别具一格。垂直木制百叶结构覆盖了建筑的几个主要立面，虽不承重，却在设计中占有明显的主导地位，并使建筑实体在它的掩映之下显得若有若无。木制覆层宛如“光线感应器”一般，随着天气状况的变化，会在建筑的表面玩起光影互动的游戏，从而产生千变万化的微妙色差。

Special Mention Timber

In the grounds of an 18th-century summer residence the ruins of a historic railway bridge offer an idyllic retreat. A roof spans what remains of the old bridge, turning it into a kind of temple, while protecting it against the elements. The ruins become a charming place of peace and calm, a rural idyll in the midst of the Burgundian landscape. With the aim of disturbing the natural scene as little as possible, the idea for a floating roof was born. It should give the impression that it was magically suspended in mid air, seemingly defying the laws of physics.
