Development of Wool/Yilon Blended Fabrics

The paper introduced the features of Yilon fiber. By blending it with wool in proper ratio, several kinds of new fabrics such as fleece over-coating and twill over-coating were developed. The working process and technical points in specification designing, fiber dyeing, lubricating, spinning, weaving and finishing were discussed. In the same time, the problems in the process and solutions were expounded. The results show the finished products come out with soft and smooth handle, and all testing results meet the requirements of GB/T 26378-2011 wool fabric quality standard. It provides a new way of thinking for developing new style wool fabric by using new fibers such as Yilon, so as to reduce costs and expand the market.
