| Abstract: | The important parameters of X-ray imaging tubes are considered in relation to their main components, the X-ray detection screen, the photocathode, the electron optics and the output screen. These parameters define the performance which can be achieved in terms of noise, contrast and resolution. Possible further improvements are also discussed. |
