The Realization of Transparent Image Using TGA File in Visual C++

TGA(Targa) file is an image storage format with alpha channel, which is mainly used in professional instrument for image processing and television program editing. Different from those image storage format, such as BMF, JPG, etc., there is a alpha channel independent from RGB in TGA file, by which the transparency of the whole image can be adjusted, thus transparent image and superimposed image are realized conveniently. This paper introduces the structure of TGA file, analyzes the operation principle of alpha channel, provides a method to get superimposition by using transparent image, gives an example that realizes image superimposition in Visual C++ finally.
