地域文化是历史文脉和传统文化的积淀，设计中应注重对传统文化和地域特色的继承和发展，有目的地保持本土建筑文化并维护其原有特质，将传统地域文化与时代要求相结合，创造出具有鲜明地域性和时代感的设计作品。本文分析了在室内环境设计中体现地域文化特色的设计手法和实例，并对保持设计的地域特色，发展地域性设计文化提出了设计原则。

Make the Past Serve the Present——The Expressions of Regional Culture in Interior Environmental Design

Regional culture is the accumulation of historical and traditional culture. The designers should attach importance not only to inheritance of the traditional culture and regional characteristics but also to development of them. By keeping the indigenous architecture culture and preserving its intrinsic characteristics purposefully, the traditional regional culture is combined with the time request so as to can create modern designs, which have vivid regionality and smartness. Through analysis on the techniques of design and examples in regional characteristics of architecture culture, the author propose several principles about how to maintain the regional characteristics of architecture and develop the regional architecture culture in a sustained way.
