Finite Element Analysis on Steel Beam-column Joint Strengthened by Plate Ring

Steel beam-column joint connection strengthened by plate ring is widely used.To meet the requirement of the architecture function,the beam arrangement has become more and more complicated.Numerical analysis is applied with FEM software on the typical joint experiment of one building project.The accuracy of the FEA model is verified and confirmed by comparing with the test result.Based on the analysis,the structural behavior and the collapse mechanism of the joint are further understood.The result can be referred for future design.
