Development of the Opening and Closing Manipulator of the Manhole Lid for the Tamping Coke Oven

At the top of the tamping coke oven is generally provided with some holes for fume discharge and dust removal, which are closed during coking and opened during fume leading-out. The proper opening and closing of the lids of the holes is an essential working procedure during the process of coke production. The operation of the water-sealed lids and manhole lids of the tamping coke oven is introduced from the three aspects of mechanical structure, hydraulic system and electric control. The development and design of the opening and closing manipulator of the manhole lid were expatiated and the key issues of motor functions of the manipulator, control requirement and safety protection were analyzed, besides, a complete solution program was put forward. The manipulator can open and close the manhole lid automatically and that relieves the labor intensity of the operators. On top of that, it can significantly reduce fume discharge and help meet the environmental protection standards.
