Opportunities for advancement of low-carbon economy and electric power industry

This paper discusses the demand analysis of low-carbon economy in restructuring and restricting energy consumption,and presents the necessity of vigorously developing electric power generation using nuclear and renewable energy sources.Considering that the application of carbon capture will be an ideal choice as the total emissions approach to saturation,this paper introduces several methods and the economy of carbon capture,and points out that the biggest cost and difficulty lies in the transportation and storage of CO2.Thus,under double pressures of technical difficulties and high cost,the application of carbon capture needs substantial policy support.
