毫米波在沙尘暴中传播的交叉去极化效应

摘    要:基于粒子排列成行的随机介质模型,给出了浮尘中毫米波传播的衰减系数和相移系数计算公式,并且计算了圆极化状态毫米波在浮尘中传播的去极化分辨率XPD。结果表明,对于低能见度沙尘暴来说,交叉去极化效应是比较严重的。

Abstract:Recently considerable interest has been shown in the effect of dust storm onmillimetre wave propagation 1]2]3]4]. Although microwave cross polarizationby dust storm was investigated by Bashir et al 5], the authors have not foundpapers in the open literature dealing with dust-induced cross polarization at mil-limetre wavelength. The authors' main contributions are believed to be: (1) A theoretical model suitable for both microwave and millimetre wavefor calculating dust-induced cross polarization discrimination (XPD) is presented,calculated results for microwave agree quite well with Bashir's results. (2) Expressions for attenuation and phase constants of polarized waves interms of visibility and frequency on terrestial millimetre wave link are derived. The results show that, when visibility of dust storm is bad(<100m), theeffect of cross polarization appears to be significant on circularly polarizedmillimetre wave links, but appears to be negligible for linearly polarized ones.
