Abstract:Automatic target recognition of sonar targets is one among the key techniques in modern sonar systems. The feature extraction techniques of active and passive sonar such as spectrum analysis, wavelet transform and so on, are discussed in this paper. The advantages and disadvantages of possible methods in feature fusion and target recognition such as neural networks, fuzzy logic and decision fusion are analyzed. The trends and research emphasis in this field are briefly reviewed.
