| Abstract: | The right to keep silent has been much talked about in the academic circles of our country in recent years, and it seems that scholars differ a lot on this issue. After taking into full account of the advantages and disadvantages of this institution, the author points out that this institution can be of an effective means in protecting human rights. As to whether our country should introduce this institution, the author holds that it would be necessary to adopt this notion as far as the current conditions of China is concerned, and that China is now well-prepared for the establishment of this institution. |
