| Abstract: | The crosslinked nature of superabsorbents makes them not meltable,and insoluble in water,apart from a small amount of noncrosslinked,extractable polymer and traces of monomer.The insoluble,crosslinked polymer network can not be analyzed by routine chromatographic procedures.Nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR),infrared(IR),and thermal analysis(TA)have been used to characterize the polymers.The morphology of the particles can be scrutinized by optical and electron microscopy. |
