Single-mode fiber-film directional coupler |

| Abstract: | Directional coupling has been observed both from a single-mode fiber to a single mode planar polymer waveguide and vice versa. The fiber coupler was prepared by polishing. The matching of propagation constants was achieved by using a polymer film only a few hundred nanometers thick. |
