A STUDY ON SITE SELECTION OF QINGYI GARDEN: TAKING EMPEROR QIANLONG RECONSTRUCTING THE WATER SYSTEM IN THE NORTHWEST SUBURBS OF BEIJING AS THE CUT-IN SPOT

Taking Emperor Qianlong reconstructing the water system in the northwest suburbs of Beijing as the cut-in spot,this paper analyzes the original environment before the construction of Qingyi Garden,as well as hazards and contradictions because of drought-flood imbalance.Then the paper discusses issues,such as how to look at the water diversion scheme in the previous dynasty,how did Qianlong Scheme to achieve water diversion,how to extend the lake area in view of topography,how to realize water supply and flood control,and how to implement the transformation scheme of the lake area.Finally,it fully affirms the outstanding achievements of Qingyi Garden in the aspect of site selection,and sums up its planning and design ideas that will enlighten later generations.
