| Abstract: | The effects of intake mixture heating, compression ratio, air-fuel ratio and ignition timing on performance and exhaust emissions were investigated by dynamometer tests on a CA1102 single-cylinder spark-ignition engine fueled with neat methanol. The compromise between efficiency and NO_x emission was improved by lean mixture combustion and ignition delay. A contribution to the development of efficient and neat methanol engines is made. |
