Abstract:In order to evaluate the rationality of determining the filling standard of sand gravel materials for earth-rock dams under the condition of air drying in relevant geotechnical test specifications, the influence of water content on the filling standard control and compaction characteristics of sand gravel materials for earth-rock dams is studied. Based on the large-scale relative density test of sand gravel material prepared by field density barrel method, combined with field rolling test, and on the basis of summarizing relevant research results, this paper studies the influence of water content on the filling standard and construction quality control of sand gravel material for dam construction, and demonstrates the rationality of using air dried sand gravel material to determine the dam filling standard and the rationality of the amount of sand gravel material rolling water recommended by relevant specifications. The principle of determining whether to add water in sand gravel dam construction is put forward, that is, considering the natural water content state of sand gravel material, grain gradation of sand gravel material, dam type of sand gravel dam and filling standard, and through field rolling test to determine whether to add water and how much water is added. The research results can provide guidance and reference for the standard control of sand gravel filling and the determination of water addition for rolling construction.
