Abstract:In order to reduce the viscosity of heavy oil more effectively, the catalyst system, which contains reservoir minerals, catalysts and hydrogen donors, is used to detect catalytic effects on aquathermolysis reaction of heavy crude oil from Daqing Oilfield. Experimental results show that reservoir minerals can not only catalyze aquathermolysis on their own but also exert a synergetic effect with catalysts in the reaction. In the presence of reservoir minerals, aquathermolysis is reinforced when catalysts are added to reaction system. And the synergetic effect of reservoir minerals with oil - soluble catalyst is better than with water - soluble catalyst. Catalytic effect is improved further more if hydrogen donors are added, with the viscosity reduction rate increased by 5.7%, contents of saturates and aromatics increased by 0.67% and 0.58% respectively, contents of resins and asphaltenes decreased by 1.06% and 0.87% respectively in comparison with those values without hydrogen donors. The quality of heavy oil is upgraded after the reaction.
