Abstract:Three catalysts including ( Cu - Ce)/TiO2, Ce - Cu/TiO2, and Cu - Ce/TiO2 were prepared by modification of Cu/TiO2 with CeO2 through different ways of equal - volume impregnation and were characterized by XRD, BET, FT - Raman, H2 - TPR, and electrochemistry. These catalysts were used for photocatalytic degradation of 2,4 - dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4 - DPA) solution under the UV irradiation. The fluorescence intensity and UV absorption strength of 2,4 -DPA solution were determined separately by fluorescence spectrophotometer and ultraviolet visible spectrophotometer to study the photocatalytic properties of these catalysts. The results show that the photocatalytic activities of three catalysts have a certain improvement compared with Cu/TiO2. The effects of impregnation ways on catalytic activities of the catalysts were significant. Cu - Ce/TiO2 catalyst prepared by first impregnating Cu/TiO2 with Ce ( NO3 ) 4 solution then with Cu ( NO3 ) 2 has the best photocatalytic activity.
