Abstract:Using titanium sulfate, polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP) ,and ethylene glycol (EG) as the raw materials, TiO2 photoeatalyst was synthesized by microwave. Using methylene blue simulating organic wastewater, and high voltage mercury lamp simulating sunlight, the degradation of methylene blue by TiO2 photocatalyst was studied in a intermittent photocatalytic reactor system. Microstructures of TiO2 were studied by XRD, SEM and FT - IR. The reaction of photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue in solution was studied, too. The results indicated that TiO2 prepared by microwave had the best photocatalytic properties, the degradation rate of methylene blue could be 98.74% in 70 minutes when photocatalyst concentration is 3 g/L, initial concentration of methylene blue is 20 mg/L.
