This paper makes a detailed comparison of auxiliary boiler types and different fuels. Upon comprehensive comparison in such aspects as technical performance, service life, floor space and reliability, and in consideration of the two-shift operational mode of combined cycle power plants, imported natural-gas shell-type steam boilers are recommended on the principle of minimal annual cost.
