Abstract:The synthetic metho of 4, 4'-furylidene bisphenol with phenol and furfural as raw materials and H2SO4,H3PO4 ,KOH,N(C2H5 )3 as catalysts was studied. The results showed that the yield of 4,4'-furylidene bisphenol reached 57.9% when the reaction proceeded for 3 h at 80 ℃ with isobutanol as solvent,N(C2H5)3 as catalyst and n (phenol):n(N(C2H5)3) = 1.00:0.05. The antioxygenic activity of 4,4'-furylidene bisphenol was better than that of bisphenol A and BHT as determined by experiments.
