| Abstract: | The particles of metallic copper or cuprous oxide suspended in glass are of aventurine effect.This aventurine effect depends directly on the size and number of these particles.The ralency of copper suspended in glass depends not only on cuprous oxide content in the matrix glass,but also on the reducing agents,temperature and atmosphere during glass melting and heat-treated afterwards.In this paper the influence of furnace atmosphere,reducing agents,trace amount of additives and process parameters on the copper crystallization in copper aventurine glass is discussed. |
