:Eu2+^{\boldsymbol{2+}} blue-emitting phosphor was synthesized by the combustion-assisted synthesis method under reductive atmosphere. The products
were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and photoluminescence (PL) spectrum.
XRD analysis confirmed the formation of Ca

pure phase. Photoluminescence results showed that the phosphor can be excited efficiently by UV light range from 230–400 nm,
and then exhibited bright blue light with peak wavelength at 431 nm. It is a very promising candidate as a blue-emitting phosphor
for potential applications in display devices. |
