An Investigation into Status of Iron castings in Competition of Construction Materials for Automobile Components

The status of iron castings in automobile industry was briefly described.The superiority of cast iron over other materials in resources,energy consumption,cast properties and machineability was analyzed in details.It was pointed out that to exploit the potentials of cast iron in its particular properties is only way to win victory in its competition with other materials and to keep,as well as ,to expand its share in automobile materials.
