话题熟悉程度对英语词汇附带习得的影响

摘    要:文章探讨了话题熟悉程度对英语学习者通过阅读附带习得词汇并保持有关记忆所产生的影响。通过实证研究的即时测试和延时测试结果,发现话题熟悉程度对英语学习者的词汇附带习得及记忆保持都有显著的促进作用。这些结果可以用图式理论来解释。

Abstract:The present study attempts to investigate the effects of topic familiarity on incidental vocabulary acquisition through reading.It reports on an empirical study conducted at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University.Results indicate that familiarity with the topics can play a significant role in L2 incidental vocabulary acquisition and retention.Pedagogical suggestions for second language teaching are also discussed.The author argues that Schema theory can account for these results.
