SEIZING THE DEVELOPMENT TREND OF GLOBAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND FORMULATING A DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY OF POWER TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Six trends of world telecommunications deregulation and the technology development direction of integrated telecommunication, computer and television network,are summed up.A development strategy is proposed that China power system telecommunication network is to be changed to a power information network based on IP technology and to provide information services to the whole society.This paper puts emphasis on seizing the opportunities of upcoming deregulation of China telecommunication market,nation-wide power grid integration and upgrade of urban and rural power distribution network,forming an eficient and integrated telecommunication and information administrative authority,formulating a policy to build China power telecommunication network into an information network,paying more attention to and engaging in the research and development of data communication over power grid technology.
