| Abstract: | This paper discusses some PKIs, such as PGP, PEM and domain name system security extensions, highlighting its general strengths and weaknesses. These PKIs are simple and have gained widespread acceptance, but they are unsuitable for most applications beyond casual conununicahon. The discussion may help to inspire people to "start over from scratch" in the hopes of creating a simpler system. |
