Performance driven Approach In Green Building Design

From Louis Sullivan＇s phrase ＇Form Follows Function＇ to ＇perfbnnance-driven＇, architectural researchers are seeking the relationship between the form and building requirements. Perfbrmance-driven design methods, which can reach the design requirements of sustainable green building, have been a central subject of contemporary theory and practice of architecture. This paper attempts to explain the concept and evolution of the performance-driven design by some well-known practices, with their specific processes, and also discusses its practical meaning and the future.
