| Abstract: | The definition,measurement methods,as well as steps and standards for assessment of biodegradability of detergent surfactants are introduced.The biodegradability and environmental safety data of detergent surfactants,particularly,the linear alkylbenzene sulfonate produced in west European countries,are described.Very comprehensive study on this topic has been conducted and the conclusion is that ,linear alkylbenzene sulfonate does not pose a risk for humans. |
