Design and Construction of Butt‐Jointed in‐situ Concrete Columns The load bearing capacity of butt‐jointed in‐situ concrete columns was investigated at the University of applied science Gießen‐Friedberg. Experiments were carried out in the laboratory on test specimens. Afterwards the experiments were modeled and calculated with a finite element method program and a theoretical study was worked out. With the results an engineering model was developed.
