Report on the seillac II workshop on the methodology of interaction

Seillac II, an IFIP WG-5.2 workshop on the methodology of interaction, may open new ways of looking at interactive systems and their design. The report on Seillac II starts with the historical background and links with a previous workshop on methodology of computer graphics. The goals, preparation and format of the workshop, and some of the issues addressed in position papers are presented, as well as the issues discussed and the questions raised at the workshop. As a summary, an open list of statements for understanding interaction, is proposed. This is seen as a major result of Seillac II. The report also recommends further activity on the subject.
