| Abstract: | The characteristics and design essentials for basements of multistoried and tall buildings are discussed. The key design points are emphasized of proper partition of the smokeproof subareas, setting up appropriately the ventilation and fume exhaust grilles and sizing adequately the air conduits and exhaust fans. |
