Abstract: | The dissolution of four sterically hindered amines with molecular weights from 1364 to 2758 was studied in polypropylene in the interval, 60–130°C. The solubility of the additives at 100°C passes through a maximum during time and the maximum solubility increases with increasing additive molecular weight. The rearrangement of the polymer structure during additives dissolution is discussed. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 75: 883–889, 2000 |
