Abstract:The appearance and causes linking to the excessive tem perature difference at warm end of a main heat exchanger during start-up of an air separation unit are outlined.By calculating the maximum expansion capacity o f an expander,it is concluded that the higher expansion capacity can result in the e xcessive temperature difference at warm end of the exchanger.
